Check Out What Mazda Has Done With the 2010 MAZDASPEED3

The 2010 MAZDASPEED3 comes equipped with a critically acclaimed 2.3 liter turbocharged MZR Direct Injection Spark Ignition (DISI) engine. Ward's AutoWorld has named it among the 10 best engines for 3 consecutive years, 2006 to 2008.

The MZR is a 2.3 L (2261 cc) dual overhead cam (DOHC), 16-valve, DISI with a compression ratio of 9.5:1. It produces 263 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 280 lb-ft of torque at 3000 rpm. A Warner-Hitachi K04 turbocharger produces roughly 1 bar of boost, equaling approximately 14.7 psi. It has a fuel economy rating of 18 mpg city and 25 mpg highway.

The 2008 and 2009 model MAZDA3 comes with the same engine but without the turbocharger. It produces 156 horsepower at 6500 rpm and 150 lb-ft at 4500 rpm with a fuel economy of 24 city and 27 freeway.

For a production car, the 2007-2010 Mazdaspeed3 is one of the fastest front-wheel drive passenger performance cars in the world. This is thanks to a lightweight chassis mated with Mazda's award winning 2.3 liter MZR DISI engine. The MAZDASPEED3 competes as one of only a few front-wheel drive (FWD), turbocharged vehicles and receives a best-in-class award for power-to-weight ratio. Coupled with a Warner-Hitachi K04 turbocharger, the MAZDASPEED3 is one of the highest performing front-wheel drive cars in its class. The MAZDASPEED3 can go from 0 to 60mph in just under six-seconds.

Mazda's revisions to the 2010 drivetrain include equal-length driveshafts and a cone-type limited slip differential (LSD). These changes were a remedy to previous models' propensity for wheel spin, wheel hop, and torque steer. Additionally, these modifications helped to realize the full performance potential of such a powerful and potent front-wheel drive powerplant.

Gearing for the MAZDASPEED3 has been optimized with taller gear ratios from second to fifth gear, fully taking advantage of the engine's broad torque curve. The fifth and sixth gears are overdrive ratios and fourth gear is taller than the previous year's fourth gear which allows the engine to stay within its peak powerband through the RPM range. Taller gearing would normally allow a higher top speed; the MAZDASPEED3 is electronically limited to 155mph.

Great Cars Under 1000 Dollars - All-Star Profiles - Mazda RX-7

For some people a great car under $1000 dollars is a vehicle that can be fun to drive and serve an economical purpose. Being a great daily commuter or a winter beater is typically a task that is sought after in a cheap used car. However for some its all about the drive and the fun factor thats why I'll go ahead and say that the vehicle featured in this profile is for those who are looking for a pure sports car.

Profile: (79-85) Mazda RX-7

In 1979 few people in America had ever driven Mazdas or even knew what the heck a "Rotary" engine was, but that all changed with the debut of the RX-7. Mazda set out to build a flagship sports car to compete against the Datsun Z series, and the RX-7 is the product of that effort. What instantly sets the RX-7 apart is the fact that it uses a very unconventional engine known as a "rotary engine". I won't go into great detail about these engines as that is an article in itself, but to give those not in the know an idea; the rotary is basically an engine that does not use pistons like a conventional engine. It uses rotors that "rotate" in a housing in a clock like motion.( remember that spirograph when you were a kid? Now you get the idea). What this allows is a very small and compact design that can provide smooth and high revving power.

The first generation of RX-7 is composed of the parts one would expect in a sports car. A small light weight chassis, high revving engine, rear-wheel drive, and in this case a "front-mid engine" placement. Stock power levels were at about 100hp which provided very respectable speed compared to competition of the time. There were also 3 models the GS, GSL, and GSL-SE each having better features than the next. The GSL-SE models can be highly sought after for their fuel injection and 5 lug hubs making aftermarket wheel choices much better than the other models.

Now on to what makes this car an All-Star. This car was a smash hit for Mazda in the early 80's and although we are only covering the first generation in this profile Mazda produced more advanced and more powerful models all the way up to 1995 in the US. So these cars can be had all day for less than $1000 dollars and most parts are still easy to find and cheap. What makes these cars so much fun is that although the early models didn't have a very technologically advanced design (no rack and pinion steering and a live axle rear end), but they provide everything that a sports car should have. When you sit in one the controls fall to your hands perfectly and even for a 6 + footer like myself the car fits like a glove. Staring at you is a big center mounted tach that the rotary engines just love to push to the limit. For those that are looking for the pure sports car experience that is offered by makes like MG, Triumph, Alfa Romeo, and Porsche this is a car that can fit the bill. The cars balance is perfect, but it is prone to a little snap over steer and the 5.5 inch stock wheels don't provide insane amounts of grip, but none of the other great sports cars of the past really did either. Even the manual steering is a pleasure in these cars as you can really feel the road and the available power is just enough to get you in trouble.

The rotary gets a real bad wrap from a lot of people, but there is a reason it has such a dedicated and enthusiastic following. The 12A engine that came in the early models is a very under stressed engine that in my opinion can hold up to the abuse just as good as anything else. ( if you want some serious horsepower there are several V-8 swap kits available that this chassis can handle with ease) Now after driving and owning a few of these vehicles I can go ahead and say that if you decide to venture out in the snow in an RX-7 do so at your own risk, and as far as fuel mileage goes the rotary is a little thirsty (expect 20 mpg avg. even from this small engine) However gas mileage and winter drive-ability is NOT what this car is all about. These cars are what gave Mazda the right to preach "zoom-zoom" as they provide a true experience for the driver not just another drive. Thats why to this day this author still owns one.

Two 2010 Mazda MAZDA6 Engine Options

While it is true that there are only two 2010 Mazda MAZDA6 engine options, either power plant is designed to please and provide the ultimate driving experience. The most powerful choice is the 2010 Mazda MAZDA6 3.7 Liter V6 engine that produces 272 horse power and 269 pound feet of torque. The V6 delivers an impressive zero to sixty time of 6.5 seconds and is truly a powerful engine for a relatively light weight car. The fuel economy, however, suffers with the larger engine and estimated gas mileage is only 17 miles per gallon in city settings and 25 miles per gallon on the highway. The only available transmission with the V6 engine is a five speed automatic which has proven to be well matched with the motor.

For individuals that are seeking a more economical power plant in their MAZDA6, the 2010 Mazda MAZDA6 2.5 Liter V4 engine is perhaps the better choice. While it produces 170 horsepower and 167 pound feet of torque, the motor can be matched to one of three different transmissions which allows the driving experience to be matched to the specific desires of the driver. The fuel economy in the smaller engine is improved and the estimated gas mileage is 21 miles per gallon in city settings and a fairly impressive 30 miles per gallon on the highway.

The majority of drivers will find that the 2010 Mazda MAZDA6 2.5 Liter V4 engine is sufficient for their needs, but if a person truly wants a powerful and impressive option, the 2010 Mazda MAZDA6 3.7 Liter V6 engine is the obvious choice. While the fuel economy may not be satisfactory to some consumers, the sheer enjoyment of driving a vehicle that has such an impressive power plant under the hood is often enough to make up for it.

Services Offered by Mazda Wreckers

Recycling is the order of the day and when it comes to cars the wreckers perform the function. Wreckers are centers or organizations who work towards dismantling or wrecking old or damaged cars and selling the usable parts to individual car owners or manufacturing plants.

There can be a wrecking centre specializing in wrecking only one type of car. For example, Mazda wrecker, Nissan wrecker, Mitsubishi wrecker, Toyota wrecker and the like. In Australia, the Mazda wrecker business has been growing in leaps and bounds with the wreckers having established business ties in Japan, where the cars are manufactured.

The Mazda wreckers are involved in the business of buying damaged or wrecked Mazda vehicles, repairing them or crushing the cars at junkyards and then selling the undamaged parts to individual owners or manufacturers. They not only supplies parts abut also are involved in the service of fitting and arranging the parts in a damaged car.

The services provided can be classified under three heads:

1.Supplying of second hand parts: All second had parts from damaged or old cars are available at the warehouses including Mazda alternators, starter motors, engines, mechanical parts, electrical components, gearboxes, panels, headlamps, tail lamps. The parts are maintained properly to avoid damage and are supplied to customers in reasonably good conditions.

2.Dismantling: The wrecking of all Mazda models are carried on at the junkyards. From the old models to the new ones any Mazda car can be wrecked and dismantled at the wreckers who specialize in dismantling of the Mazda cars. The premium parts, which might be expensive for an individual to buy, are often shipped back to Japan to the manufacturers for new cars.

3.Mechanical service: The wreckers also provide mechanical services to damaged Mazda cars under the guidance of specialized and skilled mechanics. Service available range from Mazda engine fitting, engine rebuilding, conversions as well as a large range of other services.

This apart the Mazda wreckers also keep in stock some new and exclusive parts which suit the need of both old a new Mazda models. These stocks are often bought directly from the manufacturers and kept in stock. Since most of the wreckers are located outside Japan, Mazda's home land, like Australia, USA, Britain etc, availability of such parts can become a hassle for owners.

Some of the prominent Mazda wreckers are located in Australia at places like Melbourne, Gold Coast, Adelaide, Perth etc. Since Mazda's merger with Ford, the Mazda wreckers also specialize in wrecking Ford cars. Ford wreckers Gold Coast, Adelaide, Perth, and Melbourne are especially prominent in the business. Both Mazda and Ford cars can usually be wrecked at the same centers because many of the cars are of similar built and have similar or compatible parts. Thus Ford owners can get supply parts from Mazda centers and vice-versa.

The Innovative 2010 Mazda Tribute Hybrid 2.5 Liter V4 Engine

While certain other hybrid models may have several different power plants to choose from, the 2010 Mazda Tribute Hybrid engine options are limited to only one. However, the 2010 2.5 Liter V4 engine serves its purpose well and it is doubtful that any complaints will ever be heard.

The 2010 vehicle 2.5 Liter V4 produces 177 horse power that is derived from the gas engine and two electric motors that function as generators. One of the most interesting aspects of the automobile is the fact that a continuously variable transmission, or CVT, is actually what delivers the power to the wheels. Due to the fact that there's no rotating belt, the vehicle shifts are incredibly smooth and are indicative of the advanced technology found within the vehicle.

Although there are plenty of attributes that impress car enthusiasts, the fuel economy of the engine is fairly admirable. The estimated gas mileage is around 34 miles per gallon on the highway and approximately 31 miles per gallon in busy city settings. There is an AWD model as well and it receives slightly less gas mileage with an estimated 29 miles per gallon on the highway and 28 miles per gallon in the city.

The AWD model cannot actually be considered a traditional four wheel drive vehicle as it incorporates the use of a third electric motor to help ensure that all wheels are being spun at once. However, the innovative 2010 Mazda Tribute Hybrid 2.5 Liter V4 engine is typically sought by individuals that will be using the vehicle in city settings and not looking to take extensive trips off road. Few other vehicles can deliver the power of a V6 engine by using a 2.5 Liter V4.

The 2010 Mazda CX-7 Comes With Turbocharged 2.3 Liter Engine

The Mazda CX-7 is a mid-size, crossover sports utility vehicle, produced and sold by the Japanese based Mazda Motor Corporation. The CX-7 was first introduced with the 2006 model year. The vehicle was Mazda's first SUV produced since the Navajo, which was discontinued after the 1994 model year.

The 2010 Mazda CX-7 comes with two engine options. The first engine option is a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine which comes as standard in all trims. For a crossover SUV, the 2.5-liter engine does not get very good performance. The 2.5-liter engine generates 161 horsepower when it is coupled with the standard five-speed automatic transmission. While performance is not too impressive, the new 2.5-liter engine gets 20 miles per gallon in the city and 28 miles per gallon on the highway, as estimated by the Environmental Protection Agency.

The second engine option for the 2010 automobile is a turbocharged 2.3-liter, four-cylinder engine. When the turbocharged engine is selected, the SUV is upgraded to a six-speed automatic transmission. The turbocharged engine gets much better performance than the 2.5-liter option. The turbocharged engine produces and EPA estimated 18 miles per gallon in the city and 25 miles per gallon on the highway.

Both engine options comes standard with two wheel drive, but either can be upgraded to all wheel drive. If all wheel drive is selected, then fuel efficiency will decline by 5% to 10%. Prior to the 2010 Mazda CX-7, the only engine option available was the turbocharged engine. The new 2.5-liter engine is preferred by many who are looking to save of fuel expenses.

Mazda RX8 For Sale

The RX-8 is Mazda's follow-up to the classic RX-7 eight years after they ceased production of it. Mazda launched the first Mazda RX-8 for sale in 2003, and has made one every year since. While the car still boasts the trademark rotary engine, the RX-8 has never managed to capture the American car buyer's imagination the way that the RX-7 once did. The 2010 Mazda RX-8 is an amazing performer in some scenarios, and it has gone a long way toward changing perspective. However, it still has some unfortunate issues, and thus a long way to go.

The Mazda RX-8 is a rear-hinged 2-door 4-seat coupe available at three trim levels: Sport, Grand Touring, and R3. The "base" Sport package includes 18-inch wheels, performance tires, cruise control, air-conditioning, full power accessories, a leather-wrapped shifter and steering wheel, a 6-speaker CD stereo system, and an auxiliary audio jack. There is also a rear-lip spoiler, but it is only available on manual-transmission models.

The Grand Touring package adds a limited-slip rear differential, fog lamps, automatic xenon headlights, rain-sensing wipers, heated side mirrors, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, automatic climate control, keyless ignition and entry, heated front seats, an eight-way power driver seat with memory, leather upholstery, a sunroof, Bluetooth, and a 9-speaker Bose surround-sound system with a 6-CD change and satellite radio. The only option, a touchscreen navigation system with voice commands, is available for the GT only.

The premium, high-performance R3 trim includes much, but not all, of what is in the GT trim. For instance, the keyless ignition and entry, Bluetooth connectivity, xenon headlights, and the audio system, are there. The R3 package brings 19-inch wheels, a racing-tuned suspension, Recaro front sport seats, a restyled front bumper, and a rear wing spoiler.

Under the hood of the rear-wheel-drive Mazda RX-8, is the 1.3L rotary engine. Paired with the 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, the engine produces 212 horsepower and redlines at 7,500 rpm. The 6-speed manual transmission increases that output to 232 horsepower, and the redline sits at an impressive 9,000 rpm. Both setups generate a limited 152 pound-feet of torque. Most tests put the RX-8 with the manual transmission at the 7-second range for 0-60 mph times. That's quick, but not quick enough for a sport car of this caliber at this price point.

The RX-8 is the only rotary-powered car on the planet, and that definitely increases the excitement level, at least temporarily. However, with the rotary power comes that low-end torque, which makes the vehicle underwhelming for everyday use. The other problem is that the high-revving nature of the engine makes the car an awful fuel performer even compared to other sports car. The mileage ratings are up there in the league of 4,000+ pound SUVs, and that is just unacceptable. While we hope that Mazda can innovate Wenkel's engine in a way that can make it palatable to modern drivers, our hunch is that this is just an outdated technology.

The 2010 Mazda RX-8 may be the right sports car for some people, especially those who simply have an affinity for the rotary engine Mazdas. Considering price starts at about $25,000, most consumers will be better off waiting for the RX-8 to be more refined. For those considering a Mazda RX-8, they may also want to experience the Mazda MX-5 Miata, the Hyundai Genesis Coupe, the Nissan 370Z, and the Mitsubishi Eclipse for comparison.

The 2010 Mazda CX-9 is the Newest Full-Size SUV

The 2010 Mazda CX-9 is the newest full-size SUV offering from Mazda, and has been lauded by reviewers and customers alike for its comfort, style, and available options. Mazda has been known for its unwavering reliability, and the CX-9 is no exception: This is an SUV that will carry you, your family, and all of your gear swiftly and competently.

Powered by a strong 3.7 liter V6, the CX-9 sees 273 horsepower sent to its front wheels, making it considerably more powerful than most SUVs in its class for the price. The V6's horsepower is more than enough to get the 4400 pound SUV to scoot around in traffic; most customers find that their favorite feature is the fact that the hefty Japanese SUV will get up and go when they need it to. The 3.7 liter V6 also comes with a very respectable 270 foot-pounds of torque, ensuring that the weight of the vehicle itself won't compromise its passing ability. This engine, in typical Mazda fashion, is a high-revving type; peak horsepower is reached at 6250 RPM, with peak torque found at a lower 4250 RPM. This lower torque peak is essential for its excellent towing ability. Its 270 foot-pounds directly contribute to its 2000 pound useful towing capacity, and ensure that the driver has more than enough oomph to get up any hill that might stand in his or her way.

Gas mileage is certainly impressive for a vehicle of its size. Drivers can expect to see 16 miles per gallon in the city, and 22 miles per gallon on the highway, putting it squarely above many vehicles in its class. For the weight of the vehicle and the available horsepower, very few SUVs can compete. This is certainly the SUV for you if you're on a budget.

Kids Motorcycle Jackets Are Safe

When you make a search for jackets, which can be used when riding a motorcycle, you often come across advertisements which say kids motorcycle jackets are also available. This does not, in any way, mean that kids are allowed to drive these vehicles. It only indicates that these jackets can be used by children riding on the pillion of the motorcycle. One must understand that children are exposed to the same conditions as adults when riding on bikes. The fact that they are seated on the rear seat in no way makes things different for them. They need the same type of protective gear which is also used by the adults that are accompanying them.

Companies manufacturing kids motorcycle jackets usually bear in mind the age of the child when designing the jacket. They ensure that it carries the type of designs and characters which usually appeal to children. Some of the most popular characters that can be seen on these jackets are the latest cartoon themes and colors, which companies hope will be liked by the children.

Kids are usually seated on the pillion of the motorcycle exposing them to any traffic moving in from behind. This factor has also been taken into consideration by manufacturers who have put up reflective designs on the back of these kids motorcycle jackets. This ensures that any vehicle approaching the motorcycle from behind has a clear view of the bike due to the reflectors on the jacket. They are also well designed for keeping in mind the diverse weather conditions that children may encounter when riding a bike.

Many companies have a full range of kids motorcycle jackets available and that can be purchased from retail stores around your neighborhood. However if you still face difficulties finding a store, you could always look online at one of the numerous websites, which specialize in such safety wear for children.

How to Pick a Motorcycle Jacket When Shopping Online

If you've ever shopped online before then you're aware of the many benefits that it has like lower prices, perhaps even free shipping, and the convenience of never having to leave your home. The same is true when you buy a motorcycle jacket online. There are many ways to go about doing so, but there are some universal tips that you should keep in mind.

So how to you go about finding a motorcycle jacket online that you'll absolutely love? It's quite simple really. All you need to do is find an online retailer that carries leather apparel, and then browse through their selection. Take a look at the different styles that they offer to see if anything catches your eye. If nothing does catch your eye, then move on to the next online retailer. The point is to find the motorcycle jacket that you find most appealing and most closely meets your expectations with regard to appearance and functionality. Does it have a lot of pockets? Is it vented? Is there a liner? These are all important features that may or may not sway your decision one way or the other.

Once you've located the jacket of your choice, then it's time to decide which size you're going to need. In order to get the best fit, you'll need to get accurate body measurements so that you can match your size up with the corresponding jacket size on the online retailers sizing charts. Oh yeah, if they don't have sizing charts available, don't even bother giving them the business because this is something that they should have for their customers. How you choose to get your measurements is up to you, but your best bet is to have them taken by a professional since they know what they're doing. Otherwise, you can have a family member or friend do it for you.

Why More Women Should Choose Motorcycles

Motorcycles have been perceived as a man's vehicle up to now. They're associated with masculinity and ruggedness. While the "macho" image that accompanies being a biker may not appeal to women, there are other reasons for owning a motorcycle.

Those who have taken a ride on a motorcycle know that it is many times more thrilling than driving a car. This thrill value is one of the most enticing incentives for owning a motorcycle, and it appeals to women just as well as men. After all, you don't see only men flocking to theme parks. Any woman looking for a little adrenaline in their lives would do well to get themselves a motorcycle.

While there is definitely an image accompanying men who ride motorcycles, there is also one for women. They do make women's leather jackets for a reason. The image for women is different than the image for men. A woman riding a motorcycle is still perceived as edgy, but they don't necessarily appear masculine.

Finally, there are the practical reasons for owning a motorcycle. Women appreciate a good deal as well as anyone, and motorcycles are inexpensive compared with cars. Also, they get incredible gas mileage. If you can manage to use a motorcycle for the bulk of your driving tasks, you'll save plenty of money on gas to justify the purchase.

Women have spent enough time merely being photographed on or around motorcycles. It's time for the women of the world to claim motorcycles for themselves, and all the advantages that come with them.

Motorcycle Detailing - Is it a Good Business to Start?

Many people want to get into a small service business, because service businesses generally do better during hard economic times and recessions. And while they are not recession proof, no business is, they do tend to do better, and might be a good way to make money. The question is what type of business to start? Not long ago, a gentleman asked me about starting a mobile Motorcycle Detailing company. He wanted to know about what type of cleaning products to use, and it was a good business model, and so we asked;

"Do you have any suggestions/recommendations on cleaning product that is economical and does a good job of cleaning motorcycles? For cleaning chrome, tanks, seats, tires etc... Autoglym maybe?

Autoglym is a good product for sure. There are plenty of metal cleaners for chrome, aluminum, etc. For seats, it's rather tricky, as you need to protect them from the elements, but have to be extremely careful due to slickness and safety issues. On vinyl, sometimes a little floor wax works, but make sure it is completely dry before riding, and use it sparingly.

For leather, best to use a saddle soap, and you can by actual saddle soap rather than automotive detailing products to save costs. There are tons of very good metal cleaners, not sure what is available locally there, I've only visited your city once. (He lives in Edmonton Canada works very cold, and people a ride their motorcycles in the summer time for the most part.)

The next asks me; "I am hoping to make my service a mobile service so I can go to either people's homes and/or places of business."

Makes sense, I had met some gals doing this in a trailer in Orange County CA, and some folks in Reno NV, both making good money. They wheeled the bikes into the trailer, and that was that. You might even come to AZ, FL, or CA Desert as a Snow Bird with your Motorcycle Detailing Trailer and then run the business year round, 1/2 in South (one-day shy of six months for Canadian healthcare qualification), and 1/2 year in Edmonton, might be a thought there?

When it came to equipment, or how to set up his mobile business he stated; "I realize that this may pose some challenges however it does eliminate having to have large overhead or carrying secondary insurance for pickups. Some items that I think I may need to make this possible, is a trailer, large water containers, generator or AC/DC converter to power a pressure washer or leaf blower and of course basic cleaning items such as a wash/dry cloth, wash gloves etc."

Indeed, it will take a lot of small tools, small buffing wheels, an air compressor, a small toolbox, safety goggles, toothbrushes, and as you really get into it, you will find more and more small things you need to make your job efficient. I hope you will please consider this if you are considering starting a mobile Motorcycle Detailing business.

Kids Motorcycle Jackets Safe and Fun

Taking a ride on a motorcycle with a kid can be a very enjoyable experience. Children tend to enjoy riding with an adult, and it is an excellent way to spend quality time. However, some extra considerations should be taken into account when riding with children, such as safety. Kids motorcycle jackets are a vital safety factor.

Proper dress is essential when using a motorcycle, especially for children. Leather is an excellent choice. It is thick and durable, so it will protect the skin from road rash should a spill occur. It is also breathable, which will keep the child cool and comfortable.

Many leather companies produce kids motorcycle jackets. Be sure to think ahead when it comes to sizing. Kids grow pretty quickly, so purchasing a jacket that is roomy enough to allow for this growth will save money in the long run.

Different features are available, just like in adult jackets. The amount of pockets will vary, as will the layout. If a child is going to be riding on the motorcycle, pockets with zippers will prevent any valuables from being lost. Multiple pockets will allow a kid to carry gloves, sunglasses, and other equipment once at the destination.

If possible, thoroughly examine kids motorcycle jackets before purchasing them. Check for loose threads or tears. Give the seams a slight tug and check for any signs of weakness. Also zip and unzip all the zippers, they should slide easily without getting snagged. Children do not have the same dexterity as adults, so be sure the zipper pulls are large enough for their hands.

Motorcycles For Sale - 5 Things You Should Know When You Shop For Your Next Motorcycle

Are you looking for motorcycles for sale? Many people are considering purchasing a motorcycle who have never owned one before. Though certain aspects of purchasing a motorcycle are much the same as purchasing a car, there are five things you should know when you shop.

As you might expect you will want to look the bike over to make sure the paint is in good shape, the seats are not ripped or torn and there are no obvious signs of rust. If there is any evidence the bike has been wrecked or abused, such as scratches or dents you might want to move on to another bike. However, in addition to that let's look at 5 other items you don't want to overlook.

First, know the type of motorcycle you want to purchase before you begin your search. There are loads of different types of motorcycles for sale and different brands. And while price may be a strong determining factor, when making your choice, please consider this, often the biggest and most expensive bike is not the best bike to serve your needs. Keep in mind how you will use the bike. If you plan to drive the bike back and forth to work a cruising bike might be your best bet. However, if you intend to take trips and spend long periods of time riding, a touring bike like the Gold Wing might better meet your needs.

Second, check under the motorcycle for leaks. Of course, this is not always possible. Often the potential buyer doesn't have access to the motorcycle's regular parking area, but this would be something to look at if you are able. Look for other apparent signs of leaks as well.

Third, check out the tires. There should be plenty of tread left on the tires, and they should not have any cracks or have obvious signs of wear on the tires.

Fourth, look at the motorcycle's brakes. The brake pads should have a quarter of an inch of pad left and should not be cracked. And if the brakes squeal or the grips or pads stick you should talk to a professional.

And Fifth, take the motorcycle out for a test drive. If you were to purchase a bike you might possibly spend years together. You want to make sure this bike is a good fit. Drive the bike over the type roads you would potentially be driving. See how the bike handles and fits your unique size and build.

How to Hire a Qualified Motorcycle Accident Lawyer

Lets face it, no one ever thinks they will be involved in a motorcycle accident and when they do the last thing they think about is hiring a motorcycle accident lawyer because many people believe that if they have full coverage motorcycle insurance they will be taken care of in the event of a motorcycle accident. The truth of the matter is you should always hire a qualified motorcycle accident lawyer to represent you so your rights are protected when dealing with the at faults party's insurance company.

After being involved in a motorcycle accident, the first thing you should do is seek medical attention immediately; even if you don't think you are seriously injured, those minor aches and pains can quickly turn into serious medical issues, and nothing is more important than protecting your life and your health!

Once you have been seen by a doctor, your next course of action should be to find a qualified and experienced motorcycle accident lawyer at once. During your traumatic ordeal you need to make sure that all of the facts of your accident are well documented, including witness accounts of the accident and that all other evidence is collected and recorded. In my 20 years of riding motorcycles I have overheard quite a few riders say, "If I already have full coverage motorcycle insurance, then why should I hire an attorney when I get hit on my bike?"

The answer is quite simple. If you were proven to be not at fault in the accident by the police, and even if the at fault party admits he was at fault, almost always the insurance company of the at fault party will more times than not deny your claim in full, forcing you to go to court, and in the case of serious physical injury and damage to your motorcycle this means you will need an experienced and aggressive motorcycle accident lawyer to fight your case and put the facts in the best light.

So how do you find and hire the right motorcycle accident lawyer to represent you and your accident claim? There are quite a few things you must take into account when talking to perspective lawyers, and first and foremost you want a a lawyer with extensive motorcycle accident claims experience, who knows the laws in your state, and a lawyer who has won a large percentage of his cases.

It doesn't make any sense to hire a lawyer who specializes in probate law to fight your motorcycle accident case and in addition, hiring a lawyer who also rides a motorcycles brings additional experience and insights to your case because having a lawyer who knows the physical and mechanical elements of riding a motorcycle brings tools and knowledge to be utilized in your case.

Start your research by checking the internet for lawyers in your area. You should ask a lot of questions such as:

How long have you been practicing law?
How many motorcycle accident cases have you fought, and what percentage have you won?
How will you pursue my case?
What problems does he foresee in your case?
What are your options?
How will the lawyer charge for his services?
How long will it take to being my case to conclusion?

While you should get a lawyer to represent you and your case as soon as possible, you shouldn't just hire the first lawyer you speak with. Any lawyer who can't give you few straight forward answers over the phone or seems confused, preoccupied or deceptive is your queue to move on immediately. While it would be next to impossible for any lawyer to examine and make qualified judgments on your case over the phone, once they have the basic information that can offer their professional opinion, and your next step would to set up an appointment to meet.

Hiring an experienced and skilled motorcycle accident lawyer to fight your case will ensure your legal rights are fully protected your case is presented in a favorable light to the courts and apposing insurance company.

Motorcycle Riding - Where to Stay Along the Way

With the saddle bags all packed, the motorcycle ride ready, and the leather gear and helmet on, it is time to hit the open road. Riding on a motorcycle gives the rider the experience of being right out in the scenery. The rider is one with their bike and their surroundings.

There are many places to stay along the way. These choices range in price, depending on whether a biker wants to rough it or have some luxury along the way. One choice is to stay in a regular motel, which is usually one or two stories, with a basic room that comes with one or two beds. These are usually not to fancy, but come with all of the necessities a traveler gets to have to sleep and get started the next morning. There are hotels that will be multi level with the rooms being a little nicer, to a lot nicer. A lot of the hotels these days provide a complimentary continental breakfast or a full breakfast for their guests. This can be a very welcomed perk.

There are also hotels that are referred to as Inns. These have the option of having a mini kitchen, or a full kitchen depending on the inn and the option the traveler chooses. This can be a good option for those that would like to cook their own food, instead of a continual on slot of eating out. Along with the Inns there are also time share condos that rent out their condos that are not being used by the owners. This is a good option especially in the slow season for the specific area, as they can be very reasonably priced. The hotels, inns, and condos will also have a swimming pool, and other amenities that will come with the stay.

Another option would be to pack a sleeping bag, small tent, and small propane single burner stove on the motorcycle and stay in campsites along the way. This is for those that enjoy being out in their surroundings for the full trip, not just while on the road on their motorcycle.

There are many options for a biker who chooses to experience the world on the back of a motorcycle, to choose from, for lodging when out on a road trip. Ride Safe

A Motorcycle Club of Sorts

We all have our own reasons for forsaking the plush air conditioned interiors of our automobiles for the adventure that is motorcycle riding. Whether it is the feel of the air rushing past you, or the unbelievably low gas bill, or your love of the roar of your bikes engine after a long day of work the result is the same: You, your bike, and the road. One thing that many prospective bikers do not realize is that this decision has an outcome unnoticed by outsiders. As you don your leather jacket and helmet and take your first ride on your new bike, you not only begin one of many great adventures, you have also silently joined an exclusive club.

When you depart on your motorcycle for the first ride as a newly christened biker this club membership slowly reveals itself. Speeding along the road you will notice an occasional biker riding along between the oncoming wave of cars and an intriguing phenomenon will slowly present itself. Whether you recognize these fellow bikers on a motorcycle or not you will be waved at, saluted, or even given love signs during the momentary cross lane connections you experience during your ride.

This mutual acknowledgement is the most commonly noticed benefit of your new membership, however on occasion more significant advantages will unveil themselves. A couple times a week I approach my house but find that I am not yet ready to give up the freedom that riding provides. On these nights I will extend my ride home through different routes of varying lengths. During one of these motorcycle rides I was disappointed to find that as I approached the point furthest from my house I happened to use up the last of my gas. I started the long walk back to the nearest gas station and watched as car after car passed by without a backward glance. This continued until a pair of bikers on a similar nighttime ride as myself passed by and noticing my predicament pulled a u-turn to assist a fellow biker in need.

Along with all the benefits and all the reasons that motivate us to make this change, come these and many more "membership" benefits. Just as any basketball team would wear their letter jackets, we can wear our leather jackets with pride knowing that all the bikers from this end of the highway to your destination will have your back.

Wearing a rain suit will prevent you from spending a miserable day drenched, worrying about hypothermia setting in.

Another piece of riding gear is gloves. Usually the first instinct of anyone when they fall off of something is to put their hands out to ease the fall. Falling while on roller blades or a bicycle is one thing, but fall off of a motorcycle at high speeds and a rider will lose some skin. Wearing gloves will prevent this from happening. They will also keep a rider's hands warm when riding in the rain, or in cold weather. Some gloves come with small pieces of armor that will even more fully protect a rider's hands in case of coming off of their bike.

Bikers know that a road trip on the back of a motorcycle is like nothing else. Preparing, packing, getting the bike trip ready, and planning where to go is also part of this kind of road trip.

Saddle bags are a big part of the trip. Saddle bags give a rider somewhere to put what he needs to take with him. They are usually available in leather, or PVC. Tips to Avoid Motorcycle Accidents

Motorcycle accidents are one of the major causes of ugly scenes on our highways and other roads. They are responsible for deaths, fatal injuries and life long disabilities. A sad to note fact is that such accidents have been on a steady rise as though nothing can be done to tame them. It is surprising how many motorcycle users fall prey to the same mistakes that have been causing accidents day in day out. What every motorcyclist needs to know is that the responsibility of reducing or avoiding motorcycle accidents all together lies with every individual that uses the motorcycle and the others who use the road such as motor vehicle drivers and pedestrians. Before you look at the other person for blame, look at what you can do yourself to stop the menace. Here are a few tips that you can use to avoid this annoying trend.

Be Visible
When you are riding a motorcycle on the roads, make sure that you are well visible especially by the motor vehicle drivers and the pedestrians. This is the best way through which you can reduce motorcycle accidents as each road user will be able to see you clearly. To achieve this, you should make sure that you use bright colors for your clothing when riding on your motorcycle. This is important especially when using the roads at night. You should also use your headlight to enhance your visibility.

Make Your Communications Clear
When changing lanes, taking on a new direction or slowing down to stop, make sure that the other road users read and understand your intentions well. This is where you will need to apply the correct use of your indicators and signals. Keep the correct lane position and make sure your brake light is functioning well.

Do Not Trail Closely
It is a risky behavior to follow other vehicles from a very close range. You never know what to expect from the vehicle ahead of you and you may find yourself in an uncontrollable situation when they brake suddenly. Also make sure that when you are overtaking, you keep a reasonable space between you and the other road user who you are overtaking.

Watch For Roadsigns
These signs usually do a good job in guiding road users. Ignoring them or dismissing the directions indicated on them is one of the most stupid things you can do if you are looking to avoid motorcycle accidents. You should keep within the specified speed limit of the section of the road on which you are riding and be alert for any sudden actions that could lead into a motorcycle accident. You should be always prepared to avert any sudden danger and avoid an accident.

Revise Your Course
Make it a habit of going through your motorcycle riding course more often so that the ideas will always remain fresh in your mind. This way, you will keep on refreshing your knowledge of riding your motorcycle and be able to avoid silly mistakes that can easily lead motorcycle accidents.

Classic Motorcycles - The Moto Guzzi S3

In the late 1960s and into the '70s, there was a Japanese motorcycle manufacturer's battle similar to the computer wars of the 1990s, in that the emphasis was on constantly increasing the power. This made for some exciting machines, particularly as the handling aspect came a distant second in their considerations.

European manufacturers however, thought differently. The expression "power is nothing without control" was well understood by the likes of Moto Guzzi and their fellow European manufacturers. Whilst they understood power was important and a big selling point for any motorcycle at that time, their priority was in making powerful bikes with "usable" power.

The S3 had a top speed of 125mph and 748cc transverse 90 degree V-twin producing 72bhp. However, more powerful bikes such as Kawasaki's Z1 with a claimed 82bhp was considered no match for the S3 in the real world of twists and turns - in other words, where it mattered. The S3 had a revolutionary braking system. Twin discs on the front and one on the back was nothing new, but their operation was. They were linked. The foot pedal, normally the rear break, operated both the rear brake and one of the front discs, whilst the handlebar lever operated the other front disc.

Combine this with the long, low race developed frame (from the V7Sport) and you had an assured performer that gave the rider confidence in the corners and power with control when needed. There were two main drawbacks for the S3. One was the high foot pegs and clip on handlebars, making the machine difficult to get comfy on for long legged riders.

The second problem was that although the bike handled incredibly well and could show a clean pair of heels to other, more powerful superbikes of the time; it simply lacked the grunt to get it moving. In other words, it was slow from a standing start. However, the "lemon", was going to be arriving in the following year, 1976, and things would change.

Motorcycle Accidents & Lawsuit Pre Settlement Loans

When it comes to motorcycle accidents you're talking about one of the most serious types of accidents that can occur related to moving vehicles. Motorcycle accidents usually result in very serious injuries if not fatalities. According to the National Center for Statistics & Analysis in 2005 4,553 motorcyclists were killed with an additional 87,000 injured in the United States; these means 5% of all motorcycle accidents result in death. Unlike common belief, less than one forth of all motorcycle accidents aren't due to negligence of the motorcyclist. Majority of the people involved in motorcycle accidents receive serious injuries and the lawsuits related to motorcycle accidents can take years to reach a verdict.

How does someone injured severely in a motorcycle accident financially support themselves during the long process of their lawsuit? One answer is a lawsuit settlement loan. Lawsuit settlement loan providers understand that a motorcycle accident can leave the motorcyclist severely injured and unable to work; in this same process since they are injured and cannot work it's impossible for them to keep up with bills; including medical bills, mortgages, car payments, etc. Due to that specific reason many plaintiffs in motorcycle accident lawsuits seek settlement loans to get cash to financial survive during their pending lawsuit.

Your probably wonder, "What is a lawsuit settlement loan?" It's really a simple concept; it's when a settlement loan provider gives you a monetary loan based on your motorcycle accident lawsuit. They review the case and speak with your attorney to see how sound the pending lawsuit is against the defendant and then determine how much money the plaintiff can be loaned. You can specifically ask for a certain amount in a settlement loan, or ask how much money you could be loaned if a lawsuit loan is required. This is a great option for a plaintiff who was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident due to the negligence of another driver.

The absolute best part of a lawsuit settlement loan is the fact it is not really a loan. It is actually a non-recourse debt; this is due to the fact that if you lose your pending lawsuit you are not required to pay back the settlement loan. That's right, you "ARE NOT" liable to pay back the money they provided you unless you "WIN" your lawsuit. Another interesting fact is your credit history, employment history and income do not play any role in the approve process of a settlement loan. So, if you're in the middle of a motorcycle accident and need access to cash why not consider a lawsuit settlement loan. You can learn more about lawsuit loans for motorcycle lawsuit cases below.

Classic Motorcycles - The Moto Guzzi Le Mans

In the late sixties and early seventies, European motorcycle manufacturers were producing bikes with the emphasis on the combination of power and handling, as opposed to the Japanese obsession of delivering bikes with more and more power.

This was evident with the forerunner of the Le Mans, the Moto Guzzi S3. A new linked braking system, race derived frame and 750 V-twin engine meant that the S3 could outperform something like Kawasaki's flagship 900cc Z1 in real world conditions, where bends and corners are involved, rather than a straight line blast.

The problem with the S3 had been that its relative lack of outright power meant that it was not as quick as its competition from a standing start.

The Le Mans changed all this.

Laverda, Ducati and Moto Guzzi all outperformed their Japanese competition in the mid 70s, with the Moto Guzzi, in many people's minds, the best of the bunch.

The same transverse V-twin of the S3 had been bored out to 844cc, bigger 36mm Dell'Orto carburettors and redesigned exhaust pipes gave this machine a claimed peak power output of 80bhp, just 2bhp short of the Z1s claimed output of 82bhp.

The Le Mans retained the S3s frame and linked brake system, this time with 300mm discs.

It was also long, low and again had shaft drive, but rather than make the bike difficult to handle as one might expect, the Le Mans was the complete package, but at the same time a little "quirky".

The burbling big V-twin, a slow gear change and a rather outdated twin plate clutch gave the bike a slightly agricultural feel at slow speed, in common with a lot of twin machines of the day, but a top speed of 132mph and a 13.09 standing quarter made it one of the fastest and best handling machines of its day.

On top of that, it just looked fantastic! It is now a rare and much sought after classic.

Motorcycle Traveling - What to Bring When You Travel

Have you ever traveled across the country on your motorcycle? Or even traveled a couple hundred miles and gotten lost? The worst is when you are merely going to the other side of town and you cannot find where you are trying to go, so you pull over to the side of the road and you take out a map, wasting all sorts of time and making life way too difficult. The easiest way to have avoided all of this is to buy a motorcycle GPS unit.

A motorcycle GPS unit will get you to where you are going without the added difficulties of going off track or even riding in the wrong direction. They have many different features that will help you to get to your destination quickly and easily. I am now going to list a few of the basic features that the GPS units have, so maybe you'll be more inclined to buy one.

The most important feature of these units is their waterproof casing. Since they are going on a motorcycle, there is nothing to cover them from the harsh environment outside. If it begins to rain, you don't need to worry about the gps getting wet and breaking, or having to put it away, because it is waterproof and can work no matter what the conditions are. This leaves you feeling more comfortable and confident that you will still be able to get to your destination, without losing guidance half way through.

Another one of the great features of GPS units is their ability to voice out the street names and tell you when and where to turn, so you can keep your eyes on the road and get to where you're going safely, without worrying about what's on the screen. Some GPS units can also connect to a Bluetooth headset, for added ease in hearing when and where to turn. Additionally, if you absolutely must look at the screen, there are some units with very large, bright screens that are extremely easy to view at a glance. This makes using your v a much safer thing, and ads some more reasons to buy one.

Depending on where you're going in your motorcycle travels, it is best to be equipped with a GPS unit that is waterproof, easy to read and full of functions to make your travels easier. Whether you're going on a short trip down the state, or a long ride across the country, there are many units available today that will suit your needs.

Choosing a Harley Davidson Motorcycle

If you've decided you want to buy a Harley Davidson, the next step is deciding what model is right for you. There are five basic kinds of Harleys, each with its own set of characteristics and options. You'll want to give some thought as to your riding needs, your preferences, your riding ability, and your personality before choosing your bike. This is true whether you are looking for a new or used Harley.

Touring Bikes

The Road King, Sharknose and Glides are all considered to be touring bikes. Each of these models has its own distinctive look and personality. For example, the Road King has a classic retro look which appeals to many riders. These bikes are comfortable for long rides, but they are also very heavy bikes. Especially for the beginner rider, these bikes can sometimes be just a bit too much to handle.

Softails

Lighter than a touring bike, the softails actually look a lot like the hardtails from the 1960s. These bikes are quite popular and are a great choice for somebody looking for a daily rider. Softails are also quite popular among those who wish to customize their Harley. The popular Fat Boy and Heritage models, sometimes referred to as cruisers, fall into this category.

Dynas

The traditional styling and large twin engines make the Dyna a popular choice among Harley fans. They have a dual shock rear end suspension, which is similar to what the touring bikes have. However, they also have a lighter front end, similar to a Softail or a Sportser. The Super Glide, Wide Glide, Low Rider, and Street Bobs are all Dyna models. The Dyna is considered by some to be a street class bike.

Sportsters

First introduced in 1957, the Sportsters are a smaller and lighter bike. During their early years, they were often used as racing motorcycles. Sportsters are popular among those who prefer smaller bikes, such as women or those of smaller stature. These bikes are also popular with beginner riders. Available in two engine sizes, the 883 and 1200, the Sportster is also less expensive than the larger models. One can often find a Sportster for about half the price of one of the larger models.

VRSC Bikes

Motorcycle Clothes - What Type of Clothing Should You Go For?

When it comes to buying the right motorcycle clothes to suit your own needs, there are many selections to go for. As well as different materials, there are also a variety of designs, styles and brands for biking clothes. You just need to make sure the right gear is chosen for your riding trip.

It is important to take into account any weather conditions that you may face along your journey. If it becomes cold, wet or warm, then an appropriate gear should have been chosen. For instance, in wet weather, waterproof clothing is needed to protect you against the rain. It is advisable to prepare all the clothes before the trip in order to be well prepared for any adverse weather conditions.

Here are some of the different types of clothing to consider. This article should be used as a rough guide to get you prepared in advance for your biking trip.

One of the essential pieces of clothing is the jacket. This is because a jacket will keep you warm and protect you in case of a fall. Leather jackets are the most popular choice due to their longevity and quality. Some have built-in body armor which gives the extra protection in the event of an accident.

Next is a pair of boots for keeping your feet warm when traveling in cooler weather. You should buy boots that are as high as possible since there are hot parts of the bike that may burn your ankles. Again most people opt for leather boots due to how trendy they appear, plus they will be a great match to the leather jacket.

So, when it comes to purchasing the right motorcycle clothes for your individual needs, always make sure you are prepared for the journey ahead. The right brand of biking clothes from reputable companies may cost a little higher, but it will be worth the money in the long run.

Dangerous Conditions and Parts That Result in Motorcycle Accidents

Motorcycle accidents that occur on private parking lots or public streets may cause the owners of the property to be sued on the basis of premises liability. Companies can be responsible for accidents when they take place on their parking property, while private property owners and even agencies that control public transportation are not immune.

The causes for dangers on roadways can be for many reasons. Denver motorcycle injuries have occurred because of poor building design, improper construction materials or lack of road maintenance. Because motorcycles only have half as many wheels in contact with the road as cars, they are more susceptible to road hazards.

To see if the owner of a roadway or parking area was responsible, the Denver personal injury attorney will help you determine if the owner attempted to keep the property safe. Any owner, including highway agencies have a legal duty to not subject the users of their property to unreasonable risks because of the design, construction or condition of the property. Because the user of the roadway does not have the ability or right to maintain the road, then the owner has that responsibility.

The motorcycle rider must use the roadway in a normal and reasonable manner for the roadway maintainer to still be responsible. If the motorcyclist was acting in a dangerous fashion the property owner will not be responsible. Doing wheelies in the parking garage is not commonly considered safe driving by Denver motorcycle attorneys.

Sometimes who is actually liable for motorcycle accidents caused by hazards in roadways can be confusing. Some properties like parking garages may have both an owner and an operator. When considering suing, send a letter of notice to both the operator and maintainer of the highway or property. Sometimes operators and owners have a contract stating who has liability. Whoever had the duty to maintain the roadway is usually liable.

For private property, determining motorcycle accident liability is much easier. The owner of the property pretty much always has a duty to maintain their property and keep it safe. When a defective part causes an accident, the companies responsible could include the seller, the distributor, manufacturer and designer. Always file a letter of notice against everyone, you can always decide not to sue later. Special product liability lawyers specialize in car defects and parts and may be more able to handle your case than a injury lawyer.

Womens Motorcycle Jackets - Many Styles and Colors

There was a day when the basic motorcyclist was a man. Not so today. Today many women have joined the group of people who see the world like only a person can on the back of their motorcycle. They have their favorite motorcycles, helmets, and womens motorcycle jackets.

Womens motorcycle jackets come in many styles and colors. They are made with the woman in mind and to fit the figure of woman.

There are the classic style motorcycle jackets for women. These have the rebel rider look, or the James Dean look. They come with a snap down collar that can be unsnapped so the jacket can be fully zipped up in the cold, rain, or wind. It usually has zippers at the sleeves, vents, and pockets. There are also the Euro style jackets. These have a sleeker look and style to them. They also come with zippered pockets but these lay flatter, and they come with a banded collar.

Another style of jacket is the collared style jacket. It has a collar like a shirt collar. Some of these come with features such as hardware that comes in black and brass, along with braiding on the front and back. All of these features help to give the jacket a more distinctive look. One of the greatest things about these jackets though is they are made for women, with women in mind. They will be of a cut that fits the figure of a woman. Some of them come with elastic, spandex, or laces at the waist. Another great thing about womens motorcycle jackets is they come in the basic biker color of black, but they also come in pink, or black with a pink colored band. Womens jackets also come in a variety of other colors, and color combinations.

The next time you are on the road take a look at the biker that passes you. Most likely it could be a woman. A woman who has joined the group that chooses to see the world from the back of a motorcycle, in 360 degree freedom.

Choosing the Right Motorcycle Insurance

Choosing the right motorcycle insurance policy is much like choosing the right motorcycle. You want it to fit your needs and lifestyle, but at the same time be within your budget. Although Colorado requires only $25,000/$50,000 in liability coverage, other types of coverage are usually optional. And requirements vary by state.

LIABILITY COVERAGE

Liability insurance is mandatory because it covers bodily injury and property damage to other people. It does not, however, cover you or your bike. When you purchase this type of insurance always ask if it also includes guest passenger liability. This protects anyone who may be riding with you as a passenger on your motorcycle. Even if this added protection is not included in the standard liability insurance that you are required to have, it is a good investment to go ahead and get it anyway.

COLLISION COVERAGE

Most people will also buy what is called collision insurance. This covers damages to your bike if you are in a motorcycle accident. When you have this type of insurance, your insurance carrier will pay for damages to your motorcycle, minus your deductible, as long as the damages were caused by a collision with another vehicle or object. Generally speaking, collision insurance covers the current book or market value of the motorcycle before the accident occurred.

COMPREHENSIVE COVERAGE

Comprehensive coverage pays for damages caused by an event other than a collision, such as fire, theft, or vandalism. However, just like collision coverage, your insurance company will pay for damages, minus your deductible, and will cover only the book or market value of the motorcycle.

Keep in mind that most comprehensive and collision coverage will cover only the factory standard parts on your motorcycle. If you decide to add on any optional accessories such as chrome parts, a custom paint job, trailers or sidecars, you should look into obtaining additional or optional equipment coverage.

MEDICAL PAYMENTS COVERAGE

Medical payments coverage pays for your medical expenses incurred as a result of injuries suffered in an accident. This is extremely important, especially if you do not have health insurance.

UNINSURED/UNDERINSURED MOTORIST COVERAGE

Uninsured/underinsured Motorist Coverage covers damages to you and your property caused by another driver who either doesn't have insurance (uninsured) or doesn't have adequate insurance (underinsured) to cover your damages.

CONCLUSION

Choose the agent or company that's right for you. If you already have auto insurance, you can contact the same insurer. Otherwise, ask friends, relatives and co-workers where they bought their auto or motorcycle insurance. Your local motorcycle shop may have a company they refer customers to. You can also check local motorcycle magazines and newspapers for the names of insurance professionals advertising motorcycle insurance, or you can feel free to contact my office anytime.

Motorcycle Accidents and Wrongful Death Lawsuits

The fatality rate for motorcycle accidents is very high. As a result, many motorcycle accident lawsuits are wrongful death lawsuits. Wrongful death lawsuits are cases in which a family member of the victim chooses to sue the negligent person responsible for their loved one's death.

If you have a family member who was recently killed in a motorcycle accident and you are thinking about filing a wrongful death lawsuit, you should be sure that the following can be proved before going forward:

The death was caused, in whole or part, by the conduct of the defendant
The defendant was negligent or strictly liable for the victim's death
There is a surviving spouse, children, beneficiaries or dependants
Monetary or emotional damages have resulted from the victim's death
The types of damages that can be sought in a wrongful death lawsuit vary a fair amount from those of a regular personal injury case. Family members, beneficiaries or dependants involved in the lawsuit may seek damages in the form of:
Any hospital expenses, home care or other medical expenses resulting from medical care for the victim prior to the death.
Sorrow and mental anguish caused by the loss of companionship felt after the death
Compensation for loss of income that was brought in by the victim
Loss of services, protection, care or assistance which were provided to beneficiaries by the victim
Loss of future earnings that would have been made by the victim
Loss of medical benefits
Loss of inheritance
Pain and suffering
Funeral expenses up to a certain point
Wrongful death lawsuits make it possible for justice to be served in a civil court even after death.

Product Liability From Motorcycle Defects

As I wrote about in my last post on motorcycle recalls, most recalls will not pay for any damage or injuries caused by defective parts. If there is not a current recall, hostile motorcycle companies will probably need to be sued by a Denver personal injury lawyer to achieve any kind of settlement. These types of lawsuit are divided into two types:

Defective vehicles or improperly manufactured or handled parts.

Unreasonably dangerous vehicle designs.

The first step in filing a lawsuit is to identify who the defendants will be. Will they be a large motorcycle company or a dealership? Should you file claim in your state or theirs? These are some issues which will greatly effect your case. For example, Colorado, you may have additional protections. Consult with a Denver injury lawyer about what kind of resources and planning will be required to sue.

Manufacturers are usually the largest company you can bring suit against. They may have overall responsibility and deep pockets. This means potentially a higher settlement and a high-power defense team.

Parts suppliers and manufacturers will be a primary defendant in a defective parts case. If the part came with your car, you should sue both the vehicle and parts companies separately.

Dealerships that sold defective parts and motorcycles may be liable even if you do not own the vehicle in question.

Middlemen and used car dealers may be liable in certain cases where they caused or were aware of the problem. State case law is not yet fully developed in this area, so a Denver accident lawyer can help you decide.

If you were injured by a defective motorcycle, even if it does not belong to you, you may still have grounds for a product liability suit. You do not have to choose just one type of law to bring a case under. If you were injured by a negligent driver, and a product defect contributed to the accident, you may bring both a personal negligence case against the driver and a motorcycle product liability case. Liability is usually proven by showing a breach of an express warranty (written guarantee), implied warranty (state enforced minimum standards of quality), or in some states, strict product liability, where you do not have to show the manufacturer should have known about the defect. In strict liability, you only have to show a defect led to your injuries. To win a personal injury claim, you will still have to prove that you were injured, that the vehicle was defective or dangerous, and that defect caused your injury.

If your claim is common and effects other people, there may be a class action lawsuit you can join. These lawsuits are beneficial because the lawyers are usually very experienced in these kinds of cases, and you will not have to personally deal with major costs or legal issues. Contact your own lawyer or the class action lawyers if you are considering joining such a suit.

What's So Great About the Mazda MX5?

The Mazda MX5 two seater sports car has for a long time been considered the best affordable sports car that money can buy, but why is this? Why do so many people give it such rave reviews? The Mark 1, 2 and 3 have all been outstanding successes and this can't be just coincidence. As an owner of an older Mark 2 MX5 for almost three years here's my opinion:

Speed

The MX5 is fast but not by supercar standards - when you've got the lid down you certainly feel as though you are going faster than what you are. The fact that the car is lower to the ground also makes it feel as though you are going much faster than if you were in a regular four seat car. Most people don't by a mazda for its speed though because It's not the speed though that makes the Mazda such fun to drive, it's also the handling

Handling

If you're out on a nice dry summers day there is no car that handles better. The Mazda MX5 has perfect balance, so its weight is perfectly distributed throughout all four tyres - this makes cornering and high speed performance reliable and predictable. It does have to be said though that if you are not used to a rear wheel drive car you will need to take it easy round corners at first. If the road is slightly damp be very careful has it's extremely easy to slide the back end out. This certainly shouldn't put you off owning one though - as I previously mentioned it is predictable - it'll never take you by surprise and if the road is wet you'll know to take extra care.

Fresh Air

Regardless of the model you have the option of removing the lid completely - nothing beats driving with the top down. If you've never done it then once you have you'll feel cheated for the years you missed out on before. There are three types of roof available for the MX5 - you've got a fold down canvas type roof, a clip-on type hardtop and a mechanical folding roof that comes as standard on the roadster models. If you were thinking of getting an MX5 then the sort you would go for would ultimately be driven by your budget. The standard fold down roof is the cheapest and the mechanical storing roof found on the roadster is the most expensive option.

Classic Car Covers

Classic cars are a thing of pride for their owners. They are head turners wherever they go and every year, in countless shows all across the nation and the world, owners display classic cars with pride. A classic car is a testament to the history of the times.

Classic cars require special treatment and care for two reasons. The first and the most obvious is the fact that they are unique and rare and secondly because it is not easy to get them repaired if damage happens to the car. Hence, the importance of classic car covers cannot be stressed enough.

However, it can feel like an exercise in futility to go hunting for a classic car cover. Because the cars have been out of circulation for so long, there is no way that one can get a new, ready-made cover for a classic car. There are two alternatives in such a case; either one can get a used classic car cover, or one can have a cover custom made by someone who makes car covers.

Again it is not easy to find used classic car covers. Often classic car dealers and enthusiasts are a good source of information on where to find classic car covers. Then there are junkyards in almost every city and state. These can be a good source for finding a classic car cover. You just might find a car cover stashed in the trunk of the car. This, however, is rare and you'll encounter such a thing only if you are extremely lucky.

Thanks to the Internet, it is relatively easier than it use to be for one to find classic car covers. You can search for what you need and chances are that you will find it. Or you will find someone in some forum or group who knows where to find it.

Finally, if all efforts fail, you can use the age old, but expensive method. You can go to someone who makes car covers and have one custom made for your classic car. While doing so, one thing that needs to be kept in mind is to use the best possible material for making the car cover since it is not everyday that someone gets an expensive custom-made car cover for their classic car. It is a good idea to do it perfectly the first time, because of the expense and time involved.

Points to Consider While Buying an Outdoor Car Cover

For a car owner in UK, an outdoor car cover is an absolute necessity with the weather condition the way they are. A cover offers protection not only from the harsh weather conditions but also from nature, tree sap, bird droppings and the occasional cat paws. All these things seem to leave their signatures on your paint.

A simple and cheap cover like a tarpaulin, a plastic sheet or any other kind, that is available on the market will be a definite protection. Compromising on protection is not a good idea.

The thing to consider when buying a cover is the kind of usage you will need it for, whether you use it daily or less frequently allowing it to be parked outside or inside.

Another point to consider is the material that the cover is made from. A low priced plastic type of cover will allow moisture, rain, dust to get past some areas. A higher quality cover made from better fabric will give you better protection and make your vehicle last longer.

The shape and size of your vehicle matters when buying a cover, especially if you plan on storing it for a long time. A car with a soft top needs a breathable car cover else a plastic cover can result in heavy mildew formation on the edges and seams of the soft top totally ruining its visual appearance.

A car owner in UK has to consider not just the onslaught of the icy, snowy weather or the downpours but also of the sudden spells of sunshine.
Standing your car for a few hours outside without a car cover in hot conditions can pose the dangers of UV radiations just as it can happen with us when we are directly exposed to the sun. Such circumstances can result in fading the car paint, hardening of the rubber seals and ultimately damaging them.

If you own a traditionally shaped car like a Saloon or a hatchback, you must bear in mind to get a semi tailored fit outdoor cover. A car with an unusual car shape or one with body modifications would do well with a tailor made proper fitting outdoor car cover.

After all, protecting your car is the primary function of the outdoor car cover and what better way to get this in a semi-tailor made outdoor car cover which keeps your car look charming and dainty always.

Car Body Designing

Automobile designing tracks back to the 19th century. That was the time when internal combustion engines were developed and engineers were focusing to develop a motor vehicle, which should be capable enough of moving and carrying loads. In this attempt different models of vehicles were presented driven by different fuel sources.

Three wheeled vehicle, Hippo mobile and different other models were on board. But the very first car like design was presented in 1894 by Benz called Velo. Since then more and more progress was made in this area of designing and different models of car came from time to time. Different companies started their production lines and thus a new sector emerged on the global map which we call today as Automobile sector.

Now a days, Car body designing has progressed to such an altitude that old designs appeared entirely different. The new modern automobile body designs are followed by various substantial changes, the cars are normally designed closed with the usage of glasses, Composite materials, and variety of alloys.
The materials are changed with the objective to make it more fuel efficient, to improve its aesthetic look and to build interior more ergonomic and comfortable. Different companies are competing with one another to bring such a design that is more attractive to the consumers.

There are various designing aspects of a car body like the exterior look its rear and front features etc, the interior aspect of the design includes seats, controls, pillars etc, and the color with trim designing of the car. The exterior body of the car is the primary object of designing. Normally drawings are developed on different CAD soft, wares. The drawing of the exterior proposed design is thoroughly discussed in an automobile manufacturing industry.

Once the exterior design is approved a prototype of the model is developed to interpret the design physically. Then manufacturing feasibility of the model is discussed. Then simultaneously during the prototype development automobile interior body is also considered and a design is proposed. The interior design is then embedded in the exterior body of the prototype.

The trim and color design also works in collaboration with interior design, the trim design is actually about the fabric, carpet, glasses, wood works, interior plastic working etc, so as to decorate the interior of the vehicle with few external features as well like side glasses. Then a suitable attractive coloring scheme is suggested and on approval it is applied to the prototype of the car. Now the prototype is completed.

The prototype is then discussed and a market survey for this prototype design is launched. When it is specified that there is enough demand for this prototype design, then this design is forwarded to mass production within the automobile manufacturing facility.

Then various tools are developed like dies to shape the sheets in accordance with the design of the car. So for each external specification of the car special dies are developed. Simultaneously jigs are designed to perform multiple drilling operations and finally fixtures for the welding of internal structure on which all parts like rear, front, sides are assembled. When the tools are developed the car design is ready for mass production.

Living With a Classic Car

There seems to be as many reasons for owning a classic car as there are owners. For some owning a classic can simply be an investment, whilst for others it provides a gateway to the nostalgia associated with days gone by. Whatever the individuals reasoning, owning and driving a classic car certainly makes a personal statement.

A lot of people will agree on the fact that they don't make cars like they used to, and driving a beautifully restored classic car provides an escape to the days of motoring bliss, if only for a short while. These same people naturally congregate and form the various clubs, rallies and shows that appear around the globe. All of these provide the enthusiast with a much needed medium with which to vent their enthusiasm, and it's a much needed outlet for a very absorbing hobby. It keeps them from driving their families mad! Clubs in particular are very important to the classic car owner, as they provide a forum through which they can discuss technical problems and gain otherwise hard to come by sage advice.

On a lighter note, whatever your reasons for owning a classic car, there are a couple of notable side effects which you should be aware of. For instance, you may have gotten by living next door to the same families for 20 years or more with only the occasional hello, but as soon as you bring your classic out for a some detailing you will suddenly find them flocking towards your driveway for a chat. Those decades of tactful avoidance squandered! Secondly, it is worth noting that all classic cars have an innate Crowd Appeal, and in a way this is what makes them a classic. If the sun is shining and you do feel like taking your classic to the shops, bear in mind that it will take at least twice as long. You'll find this out on your first trip as your waving through the crowds to stick your bags of groceries in the boot whilst having ten or twenty questions fired at you!
